Crawlspace Insulation Services

Energy Efficiency Products & Services

Our crawlspace insulation services offer a comprehensive solution for enhancing energy efficiency in homes. The insulation we provide acts as a highly efficient barrier to heat flow, aiding in the year-round maintenance of a comfortable temperature within your living space. This not only ensures a cozy environment for your family but also contributes to significant reductions in energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Versatile Insulation Options:

Insulation is not one-size-fits-all, and we recognize the diverse needs of your property. Our insulation solutions come in various forms, each tailored to protect your property by keeping the cold out and preserving heat indoors. Whether it's loose-fill insulation, batt insulation, or other specialized materials, we offer a range of options to suit your specific requirements.

Ideal for Bare Floors:

For homes with bare floors lacking proper insulation underneath, our floor insulation services are particularly beneficial. Insulating these floors becomes essential to ensure optimal comfort for you and your family. This measure not only enhances comfort but also significantly contributes to energy efficiency and cost savings.

Crawlspace Specialists:

As specialists in crawlspace insulation, we prioritize the installation of fiberglass insulation over alternative methods like spray foam. This choice is driven by our commitment to performing thorough crawlspace inspections. Unlike spray foam, fiberglass insulation allows for a detailed assessment of wood structures, a critical aspect of maintaining the overall integrity of your property.

Advantages of Batt Insulation:

Batt insulation holds a distinct advantage with its availability in higher R-values, making it a more effective insulator. This property ensures superior thermal resistance, promoting energy efficiency in your home. Additionally, the ease of repairing areas affected by issues such as pipe leaks is a notable benefit. Repairs can be performed by removing and replacing only the damaged sections of insulation.

Professional Assessment for Optimal Solutions:

While repairs for issues like pipe leaks are straightforward, challenges arise with concerns like mice infestations. In such cases, a professional assessment is crucial to determine whether repairs, replacements or the installation of a specific insulation type are necessary. We invite you to contact us and schedule a crawlspace inspection to ensure your home receives the most suitable and effective insulation solutions. We will provide a thorough evaluation, guiding you toward the best course of action for your specific home's insulation needs.

Fiberglass Floor Insulation

Fiberglass-faced insulation is one of the most common types of insulation used to prevent heat or cold air from escaping through the floors of a home. Fiberglass insulation comes in various sizes, colors, and R-values. The R-value determines its insulation factor. It is important to understand, which type of insulation would best suit your needs based on several factors present in your crawlspace environment.

Encapsulated Floor Insulation

An encapsulated insulation is fiberglass insulation that is wrapped in polyethylene vapor retarder. This is the plastic sheeting that is visible (as shown in the image to the right). Ideally, this is installed in areas where flooding occurs which helps protect the insulation. This type of insulation is more expensive than open-faced insulation.

Perimeter Fiberglass Insulation

Perimeter insulation is installed in between the sill plate and the header or box beam. It is installed along the perimeter of the foundation walls. Perimeter insulation helps stop heat from seeping out of the edges of the floor where the concrete meets the wall.  It is effective in closing off gaps and performs a vital function as a thermal envelope.

Why insulate your crawlspace?

Insulating helps prevent heat from escaping during the winter and keeps your home cool during the summer.  Crawlspace insulation offers comfort, and value to your home while reducing the air pollution from rising into your living space. Creating a healthier home environment.

Insulation is rated in terms of thermal resistance, called R-value, which indicates the resistance to heat flow.  The R-value rating for each type of insulation means the total number of hours rated to resist heat or cold. R-19 insulation resists heat or cold, thereby reducing the need to heat or cool your home and in turn lowering energy costs.

All insulation levels are specified by R-Value. R-value is a measure of the insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it.  In general, the higher the R-value the better the thermal performance of the insulation.  However, depending on the geographic area, and environmental conditions in the crawl space, along with several other factors, utilizing a higher R-value may not always be the best choice.  Determining the correct type of insulation needed also depends on the home's structure. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind the greater the R-value the higher the costs.
